Unless you’re running a hospital, there’s no place for stark fluorescent lighting in your sanctuary. This harsh lighting is not only hard on the eyes, but it’s impersonal, cold and sterile. It certainly doesn’t inspire worship! Swap them out for some warm yellow light, and you’ll be amazed at the difference.
Repaint Your Walls
If your color scheme hasn’t changed in the last decade, it’s about time it did. Different colors can inspire different feelings, so choose according to the spirit of your church. If you’re a more somber, serious gathering, choose colors that are rich and dark. If you’re a lively, cheerful bunch, pick colors that are bright and airy.
Plus, by using a semi-gloss or eggshell finish, your walls will be much easier to clean and maintain no matter what events you might host!
Swap Out Your Seating
Ditch the pews and bring in some lovely new seats. Go for all the bells and whistles, or pick something simple and streamlined. Either way, give your congregation something worth sitting on and they’ll thank you for it!
