While we serve our community as a custom designed worship seating manufacture, we’ve spent a lot of time working with architects and designers. Through that experience, we’ve garnered some great tips on building a beautiful, inviting space for worship. Here are our favorites:
A Clear Focal Point
A central focal point is a wonderful idea. It brings the whole room together under a united image or element. Many worship halls include a chancel or stained glass window for this purpose. The beautiful images and colors are attractive, inspiring and a wonderful focal point.
Planned Lighting
Haphazard or unplanned lighting is a waste of valuable resources. It’s a wonderful idea to have planned and purposeful lighting in your sanctuary, as you can use different light levels for different events. Perhaps you’ll want the lights at full strength as people enter, but you want dimmer lights as the service begins. You can even include stage lighting for special events like music or communion.
Careful Seating
Gone are the days of hard backed pews. Worship shouldn’t have to include suffering, so give your congregation some seats that are worth sitting in! Theater style seating has become extremely popular in churches and worship halls because it allows a venue to seat many more people in the same amount of space.
